Design Goals
Our goal was to build on the success of the Elac 240 series
We wanted a that maintain our heritage, with a modern contemporary design yet unmistakably Elac.
Our key objectives were :
• Develop new driver designs to offer differentiation
• Give some shape and add material to beautify
• Use die cast baskets with diamond cut but remove rectangular metal around driver
• Use JET Technology
• Maintain a family look
• Preserve the traditional look but modernize it

Aluminum Woofer
Compound Curvature Cone
Utilizing a single piece cone construction with compound curvature, the cone has been optimized for extended response and pure piston operation throughout its operating range, to seamlessly blend with the JET tweeter. A rigid cast chassis supports an oversize magnet with large vented pole piece to maximize drive force, minimize non-linearity and provide increased power handling and dynamic impact.

Delivering true high-definition sound, ELACs JET tweeters have been at the forefront of tweeter performance, providing extended high frequency response, wide directivity and high efficiency for lightning-fast response and wide dynamic range.
Downward Firing
Port
The die cast double flanged super silent bass reflex port on Carina faces downwards, exiting the bottom of the speaker cabinet to be redirected outwards, minimizing vent noise and allowing for a more flexible speaker placement.
